File Names

As discussed earlier, files in each clone of an IMMEX problem set are identical. Consistency in files is faciliated by devising a file management and naming system tailored to your problem set. Essentially, your file management system is archived in your IMMEX case links file which is formatted as a Microsoft Excel document. Use the case links template to begin recording the initial draft of your problem space menu items, now adding file names for reference when you begin making individual web pages for the content of your problem set. Customize case links template to the structure and content of your problem set.

Once you create the master case, clones are multiplied by copying the contents of the master case into the subfolder of a clone and making modifications of the content that will correspond with the solution to the clone. As reflected in the example below for blood types of the Watsons in clones 4 and 5 of the True Roots problem set, the blood types for the Watsons differ, yet the file name remains the same. If the differences are not immediately evident, compare the agglutination pattern (blood clumping) of Mrs. W's blood type in Roots 4 to Mrs. W's blood type in Roots 5, then do a similar comparison for Mr. W's blood type. Generally, help resources such as library and glossary remain the same from case to case and about 25% or less of the content of menu items are changed to create clones, depending on the the problem set. Changes are made to content only, not file names. File names remain identical for all cases.
