| Procedure: Technical Construction of an IMMEX Problem Set |
With a prototype of the problem space layout for your IMMEX problem set in hand and a complete case links file with your file management system in place, the following activities are key steps in constructing an IMMEX problem set in Dreamweaver. Steps 1 to 10 will be done by authoring teams. Steps 11 and 12 will be done by IMMEX programmers. However, once a problem set is deployed on the IMMEX test server by an IMMEX programmer in step 11, beta testing is conducted by authoring teams, including teachers, students, business partners, and content experts. Collaboration with a business partner or university faculty as content expert has been shown to produce problem sets that generate more diverse trajectories on student learning and problem solving. 1. Define a new site. For site name, input the title of your problem set. 2. Insert frames that complement your problem space layout (top frame, left frame, main frame, bottom frame, etc., depending on your design). 3. Save each frame individually, entitling files to correspond with position on screen. For example, top_menu.htm, left_menu.htm, main_menu.htm, bottom_menu.htm, etc. 4. Save all frames as a frameset, using the file name INDEX.HTM, making this collection of frames your start page in which the prolog will be introduced.
